About Pumba Private Game Reserve

Home to Africa’s Big 5, Pumba offers visitors the chance to experience the wonders of Africa – from the graceful giraffe to the seldom seen leopard, and the very rare White Lions. For bird lovers the nearly 317 species will never fail to delight. Pumba offers Day Safaris for those with limited time, as well as two luxury safari lodges for overnight guests. Water Lodge is situated on the banks of the Cariega Lake and Msenge Bush Lodge is nestled in the heart of the African Bushveld. All our luxury chalets are equipped with their own private plunge pools, game viewing decks and outside showers.

Map and Directions to Pumba Private Game Reserve

From Port Elizabeth:
Follow the N2 highway towards Grahamstown for 100 kilometres. The Day Safari Arrivals is situated on the left-hand side of the N2. To reach the safari lodges, continue for a further 5 kilometres and take the Alicedale turnoff to your left. Drive along the gravel road until you see the Pumba sign telling you to turn right. Continue along the road until you reach the Main Gate of the reserve on your left.

From Grahamstown:
Follow the N2 highway towards Port Elizabeth for 20 kilometres. To reach the safari lodges, take the Alicedale turnoff to your right. Drive along the gravel road until you see the Pumba sign telling you to turn right. Continue along the road until you reach the Main Gate of the Reserve on your left. The Day Safari Arrivals are situated a further 5 kilometres on the N2 to your right.
